New to FBBO but also a member of FABO and Moparts. Last weekend, dad let me race his Roadrunner on Saturday in no box in addition to racing my Demon in box class. Hot day. 4300’ DA, 91 degrees, 101 water grains, 28.77” BP, 60% humidity, 1.107 correction factor. Dad was struggling on Friday with the air shifter and he didn’t think it was working. Saturday he let me get in and it worked flawlessly. Turns out he was short shifting before the shifter would reach its programmed rpm. I’m a dedicated delay box racer but I started out footbraking. His car is much more fun to Footbrake than mine for too many reasons to list, hence why I went to the box in mine years ago. I’m not very good at footbraking and I don’t do it enough to get better. Anyway, it was my first time in the car this year. Someway somehow, I made it to the semi finals and lost at 3 cars. 6 rounds. Car was awesome and a blast to drive. Ran from 5.807-5.833 from the first time trial, through the heat of the day, and finishing the day with the weather going in our favor. This was the first we pushed his new engine combo through round robin and what a way to do it in the heat. Our whole team Bowman Performance was a huge help to keep me going once turnaround time was quick. Car is on race gas 112 octane, 727 transmission and a 572” Hemi gen 2 of course. Car weighs 3500lb with my dad in it, weighs roughly 3470 with me in it.
My lights weren’t stellar but I was able to catch a good one against a tough opponent to get through round 3. After that, my lights got me through the next two rounds but ultimately lost in the semi finals. I was .032 to my opponents .009. All she wrote there. Super fun day and very happy with the car and the fact I was able to cover rounds. I sure hope my dad lets me keep racing the car especially at the Mopar race at dragway 42 August 1-3.

Thanks guys. I’m very fortunate growing up with my dad having this car as most of what I learned and began with started here. It’s a fun ride. Lucky that he lets me drive it still. A Lot of people make jokes about us racing it because it’s an original J code Hemi 4 speed Dana hardtop car 22k original miles. We surely put er through some punishment over the years.

B body wheelbase feels so much more stable through the traps than an A body as I recall. Raced them both. Nowhere near the power that you obviously have. I was doing 1320' not 660'. That's how long ago.

Very cool 68 Hemi RR racecar, great outing too
hope he allows you to continue to race the car

5.807 1/8th to a 1/4 mile conversion 9.10-ish T 4300ft, RAD

freaken' nice runs
