Well a brutal weather weekend of racing is in the books up in Sask Canada. The 2-day points race weekend of 1/4 mile racing turned into 1 day of 1/8 mile. Saturday cancelled altogether and Sunday with a ridiculous headwind cut things down to 1/8 mile racing. Sure glad I threw the heat dish heater in the back of the truck, it came into good use in the trailer on Sunday morning.

BUT.

It wasn’t all bad. Old Gold went 5 rounds into the semi final before I put us on the trailer with a lean red. Maybe just as well because the old girl was getting far too much air, tripping the 60’ marker with the rear wheels every round. Will be addressing that before next meet.

I had no pictures from the weekend but thanks to Richard showing up I’m able to post one up.

Congrats Tex! The overall package put you out on top.

Mine was in the same boat/ 60 ft on th erear tires. I was prepared. On the outside of front frame rail is a 7/16x14 threaded weld nut. A piece of all thread and some shock washers allow you to hang 10lb dumb bell weights up front. Currently it has 20lbs on each side. Shocks full tight on rebound, wheelie bar lowered to 6" from the ground. 18 passes it ran 1.255-1.263 on Friday, 1.256-1.268 on sat/Sun in the right lane. 1.270-1.279 in the left lane.

I spotted your weights up front in a recent picture. Great idea! My front shock rebound is only at 50% tight so there’s lots to work with there still. Along with that the normal crappy air will be back which will tone things down. My 60’s are all in the 1.33 to 1.37 range.

Verry cool photo too, as normal car looks awesome too
better luck next time, going 5 rds is no slouch either

Was great seeing you again. Next race I hope to not go .0005 red like I did Sunday. I guess if you are going to go red you may as well be perfect at it.
