I am by no means a phone geek....... but sometimes I wish mine had a better zoom on the camera
Actually, if I may... these are wonderful photos. In film school - decades ago, long before cameras did everything for you - we learned 'composition' and how images in a frame are either pleasing or not, how to draw attention to certain aspects of the frame, lighting, focal lengths and how they affect background and foreground images, etc. When I look at your photos I see wonderful composition, whether planned or not. Sure, a zoom would have been nice to better see the eagles, but a zoom would also have detracted from the starkness of the entire image. The dark features of the tree and eagles juxtapose brilliantly with the grey of the sky, drawing the viewer's eye to what you want them to see. People study for years to acquire an understanding of proper composition. Some people just have a good eye for it. Nice pics.

I usually see them at the lake about 1/4 mile up the road...... they pick the tallest tree and scope out the farm field across the street looking for a meal

Very, and I mean very, occasionally we see golden eagles here. Much larger even yet.
We were driving down the highway one time and one swooped down and nabbed a squirrel from the brush pile right beside us. Startled the hell out of us. The wingspan had to be five feet, no exaggeration.

In northern OH we have flocks of grackles that just go on for miles! It's like something out of Hitchcock. Funny thing though... they're flying NORTH right now.

Snapped a picture last week from the combine. There were 2 eagles looking for the next snack. Didn't get great shot. I do Love seeing them fly.

And to think our National Bird was almost wiped out, extinct. They have made a great comeback.

Back in the sixties we might have seen one on a rare occasion but in this area they were almost gone. Thanks to conservation efforts and the bann on DDT they have slowly regained their population.

There's a large lake about five miles from here, Codorus State Park and they have been nesting there for quite a few years now. They don't always have a successful nesting. The park has set up cameras on the nest and you can go online to watch them.

Two years ago a pair of Osprey built a nest on some power lines right along the highway that runs through the park. Well that wasn't a good thing so the park placed a large pole across the road and built a platform on it. Well this year the Osprey took to it and built their nest on it. It has cameras mounted on it also. Great to see these things taking place.
