Coming from MN - When up North fishing or better yet in Canada fishing I‘ve seen some of the most spectacular sightings of maybe the most spectacular bird in the world. One noon time layover on an island for shore lunch in Canada we cleaned our morning take built a fire and OMG.
We tossed our cleanings on the rocky shore of the island which was situated right at the mouth of a river. Down comes this massive baldy scooping up as much as he could hold and flew six feet off the river water up stream with his catch. Right in front of us. I’ve seen many but this was the most spectacular of all and a vision I could never forget.
I feel we have the most incredible, appropriate national symbol of any country in the world. The bald Eagle is indeed an incredible vision of beauty and nature at its finest.

Hey if you need a car painted white just park it under that Eagle!!! We have them on a large estate I manage and it’s like someone spilled a gallon of white paint where the end up resting…

Yep, no doubt about it - he's sizing you up.
I don't think their eyesight is as good as a redtail or a broadwing though - I've had them start a dive towards me
a time or two when I've been out on the front field, only to pull up when they got close enough to do the math....
"Damn, no way in hell I can lift off towing THAT lard-***!"
We got both kinds of hawks out here in the ridges, buzzards, big-assed cocky crows, turkeys by the dozen - and yeah,
bald eagles, who like nesting down the hill near the creek. They talk - a lot, sometimes. Very distinct and clear out
here on the ridge, like the updraft-riding redtails have their "Buick commercial" distinctive call.
Hawks have made a play for my beloved Sasha in the past, only to have me in their grilles when they did - but the
eagles are more selective, never making a play for the dogs.
I got to say though, the most fun birds out here are the little larks, who love to play around me when I'm out on
the tractor mowing the fields. They're so quick and darty and plan each pass "at" me with precision and speed.
Many times, I'll think they're going to wipe out right into the tractor, only to make a quick little turn just in time,
so close I can see their eyes. Fast little buggers!

At the lake a few years ago, two eagles were dive bombing a turkey swimming in the water trying to pick it up. After several attempts, they weren’t successful and gave up. The turkey eventually made it to shore. I have no idea how the turkey ended up in the lake to begin with.

I was cutting the yard last week and this Cooper's hawk swooped down right behind me and snagged a snake that I must have chased out of the tall grass. I stopped the mower and watched him wrangle the snake for a few minutes until he subdued it. Then he flew into a nearby pine tree to enjoy his meal.
