From the American Legion : Unless an article of clothing is made from an actual United States flag, there is NO breach of flag etiquette whatsoever. People are simply expressing their patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes. There is nothing illegal about the wearing or use of these items. { see best chest thread } { and best rear end thread }

The Washington DC mayor insists flags flown must include 51 stars. Crackhead!

I can remember in 1969 Easy Rider came out. Peter Fonda had a helmet with red stripes and white stars. It was considered very disrespectful and was more about protesting against the USA. After that fashion trends picked up on the flag motive. I even have some flag motive sneakers. It was all very counter-culture stuff. I was in 7th grade and I sewed a flag on the sleeve of my jacket. It really pissed some people off. I wasn't protesting, I just wanted to look cool and fashionable. Now I am very conservative and fly the flag outside my house everyday.

Happy Flag Day. Some great patriotic pics!

However, this thread isn't getting all the views it deserves because it was posted in General Discussion. The site admin has decided not to display General Discussion, Political, etc. on the homepage of this site anymore. Therefore users have to wade though "What's New" to find great threads like this one. If you're like me and expect things like this to show up on the homepage you're out of luck.

Yeah - Not my site - but as member I don’t care for that piece. So now our flag is considered political not simply patriotic?

I don’t see how to follow a lot of things I used to be able to. Maybe I’m just to stupid. Maybe I’d rather you guys didn’t answer that last sentence…
