good evening mopar family,

Been a long day in the garage, luckily it was 77 and beautiful outside. Got to the point on my project to install the headman headers and hook up the exhaust. This has been in the car before but its been so long ago (8 years maybe).
1.The headers wouldnt fit in the top of the bay, jacked up the car and tried from the bottom....not enough room with starter in.
2. removed starter.
3. Got both sides routed in there.
4. Mounted headers
5. Bolted up exhaust flanges
6. Went to re-install starter, not enough room

um.....options are?

I really, really, really dont want to unbolt the exhaust and unbolt the headers, lol.

thanks again

Unfortunately, I think you are going to, at least, unbolt the exhaust flanges and remove all but 1 or 2 of the header bolts leaving the attached one really loose. This way, you can move the headers enough to get the starter back into place.

Good luck!

They have to go on in tandem (simultaneously) as jimt1971rr stated above. Once you do it once or twice, you'll figure it out. :headbang:

Ya tried that juggling act for 3 hours last time and did not work. Pulled the torsion bar and 1 1\2 hrs. later everything was together and running.

Got it! I will have to bolt back up the exhaust tomorrow, I have to be up for pt in 5 hours lol

Never a fun job when you say headers and starter in the same sentence. I don't know if it helps your situation but I've always unbolted the motor mount on the left side - jacked up the motor a little and with loosened header bolts found that was the secret recipe. Got used to doing it because the starters would burn out regularly. It became easy as it sounds after a while.......

Repetition is a way of learning that im beginning to get used to unfortunately. But I love doing this crap, or at least doing all this crap to get to the part I love haha

77 degrees.............thanks
