I'm starting to gather parts for an engine rebuild for the Coronet (360 sb). When it comes to headers, has anyone found a brand/type that fits with no mods needed? Most of the threads I've read deal with bog blocks. Thanks fellas.

Usually it's the cheap headers that give the most problems but it's been way too many years since installing headers on any car. That said, I had a 71 Cuda 340 with Hooker Super Comps and they fit well with no dinging and could even get the factory style starter in and out without loosening them. It was tight but if you did it right, it wasn't a problem.

I use to have shorty headers on my 406 The ends were just a little further down the pipe than stock ex manifold. I liked them but I can't remeber if they were Gibson or edlbrock
There are sooo many good headers out there. The question is what is your budget ? I'm a TTI man myself.Yes, they are expensive.My last build I thought about the Summit or Jegs ceramic coated.Half the price of TTI's. But bit the bullet and went with TTI. I was tempted though.

On my E body Cuda, same engine bay as a B body, I used Hooker Super Comps @ a 1-3/4 tube / collector @ 3 inch. 2-1/2 exhaust there on back.
Best fitting header I ever had.
I have used TTI headers in A bodies and it did require 1 small dent at the power steering box. Very minor. Many don't have to do this.
Lastly, Doug's are also said by many on the A bodies forum to be excellent as well.
TTI most expensive, I think Hookers are second and Soug's 3rd. All are pricey by compare to the 1 size fits all header.

How about Dougs?
SBM headers have always been a pain in the rear for me due to-
1- dang generic tubes below the steering.
2- dang zero wrench grab AND zero swing clearance on the bolts/nuts that are way too close to the tubes.

1 I have only seen Dougs on an A body once years ago. No tubes under the front linkage.
TTI & Hooker Super Comps also do not go under the front end linkages. Lots of ground clearance.
Header Bolt issues are the norm. I have no problem turning them but some can be a chore which takes some time. I have tricks.
