Do you need the oil adapter for the filter if you run headers on a 318? I believe you have to if running 340 exhaust manifolds what about headers?

I would probably go with a remote oil filter setup if running headers on an LA engine.

Depends on the pipe configuration, but I don't recall any time we didn't install the adapter on a SB Mopar header job. That was then, now may be exceptions.

There was another thread where the SB header didn't appear to require the adapter ( Doug's ? ), but only the OP would know for sure.

My 73 Road Runner with a 340 did not need one.

I was looking for a clearer photo. This all I got.

Another photo. Summit Racing Headers.

Out of all my pics, not 1 great shot of the filter lol

No oil filter adapter needed with my 340 and TTI longtube headers.

Mine is a poly with TTI's no adapter needed, just the short filter.

Even if your oil filter will clear the headers, keep the filter away from the headers. They get pretty dang hot you know! :p

I thinking of not using the headers I bought , just going to run duel exhaust and keep original manifolds.
