does anyone know of a good brand or specific header that will FIT well on a 71 B body with Power steering, engine is a small block. please let me know also has anyone else had the problem where the Pitman arm when turned all the way hits the header, and what was your solution. thanks alot -Jim

I have personnaly used Hooker Super Comp headers (NOT the regular comp's) on my B body with a small block and can say there was ZERO issue installing them and ZERO issue's with interfearance anywhere EXCEPT in the case of the Lakewood scattersheild.

There not as pricey as tti's. I'm not sure about the headers from Doug though.

The one cave eat I can think of is the tubes are 1-3/4 in size, so low end torque may suffer some. I didn't really notice with my 318 and 2.76 gears to be honest though.

hmmm thanks for the information fish, ill try to explain what i suspect is the problem. i bought my car back in January and it looks like in the past a LOT of modifications were done wrong. Anyway with the headers i think i have some crappy headers build for a car without power steering mine does have power steering, you think this would make a difference?

If anyone has a 71 b body with a 318 and power steering (preferably a satellite or a roadrunner) can you please take a pic of the drivers side header around the steering box pitman arm area, or let me know what they are.I just fixed everything to get it on the road got all the parts and now when ever i steer left the pitman hits the header, the steering is lined up and everything is in place... idk what to do.

It could, header manufacturer and style of header dependent.
