Hi everyone once again

I had a couple questions after finding a leak in my heater core... well atleast its leaking from the delete plate (cover plate in picture) now my question is if it remove the cover for a visual inspection, do i need to put some type of sealant on the delete plate trim to seal it ? Or does it just get retightened with the bolts and thats it?

Thanks for any help it is much appreciated!

Ps: i plan on giving the cover a good cleaning has some type of grease on top. Car is a work in progress....

I would bet it has some type of body caulk for sealant.

Butyl rubber sealant. Can be had in strips or as caulking gun tube. 3M and others make either. Stays gooey and never hardens up.
