Have a 1968 Dodge Coronet w/ 318 that we recently got running after being in storage for x16 years. It appears the heater core is not functioning properly for the front windshield fogs up underneath the vent outlets on the dash when the engine heats. The windshield will fog up even when the fan & heater are turned off in the middle of summer.

Question: Can the input and output hoses to the heater core be coupled to create a continues loop bypassing the heater core? If so, any concerns or advise in so?

Thanks

That can be done... the heater core will rust out the car the way it is...

Thanks, we have one coming. We were just wondering if we could do this for a quick fix.
Is there any thing we should look out for when we replace the core?

Yes you can couple the hoses to drive it till you get the new heater core installed.

Yeah, typically a giant mouse nest with all kinds of chocolate sprinkles. Wear a dust mask if so.
