heater hose size ?

My 70 GTX has two different size heater hoses. the firewall connections are 5/8 on one and
1/2 on the other. is this normal? So many pics i've seen have two 5/8 lines

Air conditioning? I know the small blocks had the two different size heater hoses, but both are 5/8" on all my cars with the big blocks in them. Only thing I can think of is maybe air conditioning? And I am not positive on that either.

not an air car. wondering if heater core may have been swapped long ago.

Nothing swapped, your 1970 B-body should have those 2 Sizes on every V8 engine no matter if AC or just heater.

1969 and older was both 5/8” hoses.

Completely correct for 70. If I remember correctly up through 69 were 2 5/8's hoses.

thanks guys that puts my mind to rest that i might have a mis matched heater core.
