Hellcat Charger Unveiled Today

It's a step in the right direction for Dodge. Now they have to work on the quarter mile times as well as the 0 to 60 times. The Charger is an 11 sec quarter and 0 to 60 in 7 sec? Granted this is projected and not actual from what I can tell but with 707hp you'd think it would be quicker. I guess it's one step at a time.

They said it best during the unveiling... they went ahead and built a car that there is Zero interest in.... I imagine they'll plan a limited run as sales numbers for this thing can't be impressive... but you have the motor so I guess I expected them doing this

"This is a car most brands would never bring to market," Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said. "This is a car that you absolutely cannot build a business case for. But sometimes, you need to stop listening to the focus groups. Sometimes you need to build a car that defines itself."

Bring it on! Lets see some more late 60's early 70's muscle cars take center stage (except for that redesigned Dart - fail). Finally some late model bragging rights.

It said 0-60 in 3.7, not 7. :)

This is a good write up too:

Interesting front end.

HellCat specific, or across the board for next year?

I kind of like the current front end.

I'd own it, if I could afford the insurance, let alone the payment.

The general shape maybe? All cars are having to go to this shape for aero though...

For sure the shape is what I'm thinking. And agree whatever gets the aero is what you need to build.

I just can't imagine who would buy this thing over the Challenger? The only benefit in my eyes is it puts more 700 plus HP engine's on the road to potentially be available one day :)

I like this better. No sporting pretensions like the Challenger tries to exude, just big and badass...no excuses.

Cool car,
good for Dodge & SRT // performance brand,
if you need or want a 4dr sport sedan, I wish they had it in a Magnum Wagon still too...

I wonder if it will be in the Chrysler 300 soon too...LOL,
for those people that want a bigger 4dr with a bunch of power,
competing with BMW or Mercedes & the likes, Hi $$, Hi-HP, Luxury/Import sport/touring sedans...

Hell I'm sure if it was in a truck,
there would be some people wanting them too...

Personally I like seeing any progress & competition between the brands,
harkens back to the HP wars & muscle car era...

Bragging rights & chest pounding...
