I'm here because I'm considering selling my 69 Road Runner. I'm the second owner, it's a 383 Hardtop, 727 Automatic in T5 Bronze Fire. Might be hard to let go but the kid's college fund might win out. Thanks in advance for any advice/info you might have for me.

AI is going to replace all those college tech jobs, send the kids to trade school and keep your Road Runner! Welcome to the site!

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. Nice 'Runner! Hard decision for sure. I think skilled trades is a good bet. Nobody wants to get their hands dirty anymore, but there is always going to be a need for electricians, plumbers, pipefitters, etc. Join a Union, and let an apprenticeship pay for the education, instead of you paying for it.

Welcome to FBBO from 'a bit east of you', NorCal Sierras, Tuolumne Co.

nice RR, don't see many in that T5 Bronze, or I haven't

If they (kid/s) are worthy of going to college, have the grades, ability
I'd send the kid to a local college or state college, don't go into that unneeded debt
it's not worth it for you or your kid/s, $1,000 a month for 12-14+ years after graduation
for student loan debt, unless they get a full ride, doesn't sound like the case...

What I did with mine, I raised 6... 4 girls & 2 boys,
& 2 of the girls got a 'full ride'/scholarships/1 for sports (great grades too)
& the other 1 was academics, she was the valedictorian of her HS
& it still cost me a 'shitload'...
All 6 went to college, one into the Navy 1st, he's a lifer, one in AirForce
both have the 'GI Bill' both doing great & I still forked out $100k each...

Or if it's iffy whether thats what they should do or qualified for
have him/her them also maybe (?) look into the trades,
even an apprentice program, get paid while they earn,
decide where in life they belong...
There's lots of great paying jobs, that need to be filled,
& will always have openings...
Welders, plumbers, electricians, even a competent Carpenter,
local Politics, executive services etc., can make that good $$$,
$100k+ a year or more, maybe even starting his/her own service company,
small business, after getting the training...

I'm from that area I was in, East Bay, Concord for 38 years,
born & raised till I moved east, to get away from the rat-races...
I have a BS degree from Univ. of Oregon
I barely needed it, mechanical engineering & architecture...
Albeit, it supported my chosen vocation, came in handy
& my hobby of drag racing & eventually became a Contractor,
when I got tired of the other people dictating who works & who doesn't,
I built & did facility management, at a bunch of automotive dealerships...

Keep the RR. If your kids are motivated part time/summer job. Plus money you supply. Mike Row from Dirty jobs says electricians and plumbers making $200k. He has a foundation helps kids out.
