Thanks for allowing me to join. I have a 1969 Road Runner, originally bought the car in 1974, had a small crash and my dad made me sell it, since I still lived at home and was 16, I had no choice. I did keep track of who had the car and periodically asked to buy it back. Finally about 5 years ago I bought it back. It came with the original motor but the transmission was replaced. I now have found what is supposed to be the original transmission. My question is, how can I determine if it is the original? The man who removed it from my car installed it in his nephews car and it is still in the car since 1979 but I do not know if it had been changed prior to me owning the car in 1974. Thanks for any suggestions.

Jim

Hey, welcome to the site!

The transmission belonging to the Roadrunner should have the sequence number stamped into the case above the oil pan rail on the passenger side.

welcome! glad you got the car back, let's see it!

Thanks for the reply. The transmission has pk2892090 with a possible I or L but this number is on the drivers side. My question is, will any numbers on the transmission show a definite connection to my car, possibly be part of the VIN?
