My wife and I are getting a 67 Belvedere II from my father-in-law in the coming weeks. From what I know of the car I would describe it as a nice driver that is essentially in the stock configuration. I believe it is a 318 with a 4 speed manual so it should be reliable and the 4 speed will keep it fun to drive. I fully understand that this is not a high horsepower racer. We are looking forward to it being a comfortable and reliable cruiser that we can drive to local shows and events. We do have a couple of things that will be priorities for us when we get it since part of the fun with any classic car is making it your own! Any input or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
First on the list will be to remove the factory rims and hubcaps and sit them on a top shelf in the barn. We want it to look like a period(ish) hot rod and are open for ideas on rims and tire combinations that will not require a home equity loan or modifications to install. The next likely update would be to add some sort of air conditioning to it. Being in the Iowa corn belt summer heat and humidity is a real thing and we want this to be enjoyable without the risk of heatstroke.
Once we have it I will post some picture and likely have many more questions.
