I live in Mclean, VA Near Washington D.C. and am interested in purchasing a 1968 or 1969 dodge charger project to work on in my spare time. Welcome from PA! There are lots of good people on this site to help you.

The FIRST most important thing is to decide what kind of car you ultimately want. Then adjust based on your ability to buy or pay for that. For example, if you buy a #1 car and drive it on the street for a year, you will move it to a #3 car. Better to buy a #3 car from the start.

Won't go into too many details here, but do you homework, be honest about your budget and you own mechanical skills, and then buy accordingly. Lot of people here to help you down that road.

Welcome from Maine! Good luck with your search! Same as hsorman said! Look very closely. Took me a long time to find the right charger for me. But being picky and patient, I found one. But as I found out, being picky and patient doesn't mean you won't be working on a 40+ year old car and trying to figure out the po's half assed fixes! But still worth it! Good luck!
