Thanks for all the welcomes, again.
I got the tank cleaned & coated this week and put it back in last night with a new float, new sending unit casket & cap, new filler neck gasket. I replaced all the 5/16" rubber lines from the tank to the filter. After much fuel line priming, the engine cranks right up and purrs. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Edit, FYI: gas tank cleaning + coating at Sims Radiator shop on Weeks Rd in Decatur, GA cost $125.00. 4 days turnaround.
