i am in need of some help finding parts for my 72 Charger. i have tried looking everywhere on the web for parts other than some window cranks and carpet. i am beginning to think there isn't much parts out there for the new mistress in my life. i have went through many magazines trying to find new sites but no luck. so my mistress and i both have a need/want- she needs to get that awsomely hot body and interior back and i want to give it to her. so if anyone knows where i can find a large variety of parts for my beautiful 72 charger (well she is beautiful, no totally hot, to me) i would really appreciate it and so would the mistress!!! Oh, also does anyone know how i can find out what parts inter-change with her, i'm sure that would help alot. Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

Can you be a bit more specific as to what you're looking for?

Some parts are repro, and gen 3s are starting to get some love in the industry.

Some stuff interchanges with 71/72 and some with Plymouth.

...and lots of stuff here.

I just bought a cowl/winshield channel and front bumper brackets from a member!

i'm looking for pretty much everything for the interior. my problem is i'm not sure if its a ralley, r/t or what. it seems that stuff i am finding just doesn't match ex:the seats in the car have the buttons on them and prev. owner swears they are original, but when i find them on web or catalogs the 72's dont have buttons. and i have yet to find gauge cluster mine has 2 large just over steering column for the speedo and clock and then 2 smaller ones to the right with the fuel , oil, temp, and amp. i am new to the mopar family and i am beginning to think i should of found a car that has more parts readily available. but im not gonna give up on her i'll do what i can for her no matter what.

Dan, never take the word of an owner unless they can prove they're the original owner of the car. These cars have been modified, rebuilt, and played with for 40 years and there's a good chance a lot of the parts in your car might have been on there before the last owner bought it, but might not be the original parts for the car.

Most of the interior parts for you car were also installed on 1971-1974 Chargers and Plymouth Satellites, Roadrunners, and GTXs, so there are a lot of parts out there. Even better, more and more 73-74 cars are being parted out as owners are giving up hope that repop sheet metal parts are ever going to be made, which makes these parts pretty affordable.

Here's some suggestions for you that'll make your task much easier:

1. Most areas have a Mopar club or classic car group with Mopar fans in them. Get together with the one near you. Hopefully someone will have a Charger or know enough about them to help you.
2. Check out the local junk yards and see if they have any Chargers you can look at as a reference and hopefully supply some parts for you.
3. Put a post up on this forum asking for members with 72 Chargers to post pics of their interiors.

Also depends on how original you are willing/wanting to get with your refurb.

Most seats from 70 until even post 74 will bolt in, but as you've discovered, the patterns can be different.

Legendary makes almost all styles of covers, and most work on frames from different years.

No R/T in 72, could be rallye, there IS a fender tag code for that unless it's a Lynch Road car. then maybe. Sounds like you have a rallye dash, but that doesn't mean it's a rallye car.

I suggest searching or browsing the posts here, on the 71-74 section.

Spend a little time reading, then you'll have a better idea what questions to ask.
