Hi!
As my car is in storage I cant get to it at the moment to get a measurement.

Someone here is selling a rear sway bar for a mid 70's Dodge but they dont know what it's from.

It is setup for use with an ISO rear as my 74 Charger is. The centerline measurement as pictured is 39" so I'm wondering what the centerline measurement for the rear frame rail is on a 3rd gen BBody?

OH! and ISO leaf spring EYE to EYE measurement too please!

Thank you kindly!

I thought you had a 3G B?

I got a sway bar assy that looks like that from a Cordoba.
It measured the same as the bar my 72 Charger.

Do you need the car measured or a known compatible bar?

Yup a 3G B (71-74 no?) ...74 Charger (73 and 74 was the start of the ISO crap)

I want to see if this bar will fit on the 74 Charger, The Guy selling (his pictures) beleives these items to be from a 77 Fury which is a BBody (not Grand Fury = Cbody).

If they are from a 77 BBody it should be the same as a Cordoba.... if the cordoba one fits your 71 then.... woohoo! Should fit mine too!

I'd really like a measurement to confirm before commiting to buy though.

Ooops to answer your question.... the car

sorry, took me a bit. My brain is fried, it's been a very long week and I cant seem to focus on a single thought. Maybe a few beers after work will help :)

Well I got the measurements from my 74 Charger when I got home from work this afternoon and here are the results:

I measured the frame rails centerline to centerline and they are very close to the 39"
I measured eye bolt to eye bolt and it came to 57.5

I dont think the extra inch is going to make a tonne of difference but please chime in

I'll try to get some while I am at my shop tomorrow.

The only difference in the bar I got from the Cordoba and the one on the 72 is that one of them has a saddle or offset around the diff pumpkin, and one is just straight.

I can't see how the straight one would be less than 1.5-2 inches clear, though.

Looks like the Cordoba bar is 38 3/8 center to center on the mount that goes on the frame section.

I couldn't get to the 72 yesterday, but I measured it before I pulled the Cordoba bar from the JY.

Interestingly, the Cordoba bar has the offset for pumpkin clearance even though it was on an 8 1/4, while the 72 bar is straight and that car came with an 8 3/4.

I think since the bar is spring steel, that 5/8 of an inch or so shouldn't be a big deal to push/pull onto the frame mount area. Might have been that much variance in manufacturing.

Does your car already have the holes where the mount attaches?

I think spring eye to spring eye measuring might have too much of a variable due to spring sag...

Thank you very much!

i dont have holes in the frame for the mount so in the spring I'll be looking for some direction on where/how to know where to mount it.
There IS a slight off set in the bar for the pumpkin clearance though its not noticable in the pic... I'll take some more pics this afternoon though
I think there should be enough play/adjustability for the width as you mentioned... I'm hoping so anyway lol

As my cars rear spring hanger is non existant be cause the previous owner hacked it up and piecemealed (more like used odd pieces of scrap metal and drunkinly welded in what very barely can be called a shakle mount) I'm looking for pictures of the rear spring hangers and how they are affixed to the frame.

I agree with the spring measurement... thinking about this again the springs in the pic are unsprung measurement and I measured mine on the car, on the ground.

I picked up the springs anyways as I can rebuild mine with them AND the rubber ISO mounts are in very good condition including the rubber... I may actually be able to have the rubber reproduced by my local machine shop so I will have solids finishing the elimination of all the ISO rubber the charger had.

Here is the pix of the bar and as you can see it does have the slight offset
As for the width between the frame rails, looks like ther is room for adjustment and could even flip the mounts around if needed to get narrower
The links are no good so I'm going to cut these ones off and replace them with ones which dont need to be welded closed.
