Help! Rear License Plate Bracket Rebuild

1971 Charger.

It came apart easy enough, and then house, work, family slipped in.

How do I get the spring in, and with tension to make it all work right?

Any more help to provide? I’ve tried everything. I put little hoses on the ends of the slings, and then when I put the pin in, and pull back, the spring ends rip out. I put metal on the spring ends, and that holds, but how do you get the pin out to add the bracket? When I do, the spring doesn’t wait for me to put the pin in both.

If I could send this to someone to put back together, I would!

Why are you taking the pin back out, you have to put it together all at the same time. Holder, bracket, spring and pin. Then you pull the spring leg down and bend the holder tab into place to retain it.
