Looking for some advice from anybody who has installed US Cartool inner fender braces in a 68-70 B body. Pretty straightforward as to how they get welded in. Problem is that the rear most flange interfears with the stock rear inner fender splash shields. Are you guys cutting the new brace and compromising the intended purpose, or chopping up the factory shield? Or am I missing something simple? Really don't care to cut up the stock shields.

Here is mine before and after "factory style" undercoating. I don't exactly remember (old age?!?) but I think I notched the shield a bit.

weld in the brace put the fenders on and trim the shield. it will be fine. stiffening the car s the point right?

trim the shield...... why worry about a "stock" shield? those stiffeners are the furthest thing from stock anyway

Thanks guys, I'll do some notching on the shields.

good choice once its together and finished you wont even think about it

I trimmed the bracing myself and the slots in the middle of bracing welded those to the shock tower stiffener, and if I remember one side was off so I made new holes then welded in

And I guess originality really doesn't matter since I just got connectors and torque boxes welded in the car.....
