That looks like a bench seat hump. Puts the shifter farther ahead. You will need the handle out of a like application.

Factory pistol grip shifter is even longer and comes farther back. They are specific to the cars. Several versions were made.

I don't believe there's such a thing as a bench seat hump for a 69 b body. The shift handle on summit will bolt right to your shift mechanism. The only question is whether you'll smash your knuckles on the dash. The shift mechanism for a 69 is different than 70. The 70 pistol grip handle was made for the 70 hurst mechanism. Yours looks like it could be aftermarket so it might work fine.

Geez guys, I think it will fit as long as you get the bolt-on type pistol grip shifter. The 69/70 cars' interior is very similar. It's not like a 69 dash is 6" closer to the shifter hole or anything like that.

The console shifters have an odd bend in them to clear the console. A bench seat shifter is closer in appearance to what you have now

Shifter hump is the same '68-'70. Engine/trans/seat locations didn't differ, bench same as buckets in that regard as well.
Only real difference was levers that needed to clear a console opening.
That existing shifter's an aftermarket Hurst, as the OEM used a snap-in lever, not the bolt-on.
The lever bolt spacing is the same for every Hurst shifter that uses them, as far as the ones I've had, including in GM cars.

Thanks for all the replies. I found this one(pls see pics) and it looks similar to my current one. Looks like it will bolt on to my shifter without any issues. I'm just a bit worried about Reverse, 1st, and 3rd. Do you all think this one would work? Thanks

I've seen plenty of 68/69 B-bodies with pistol grip shifters and never heard any complaints about hitting the dash. So I'd think as long as your shifter mechanism is in good shape..not all worn and sloppy...then you shouldn't have any issues.

I had a pistol grip in my 68 RR. Worked fine. You need a shifter boot for it vs the round shifter.

The (very real) issue of the long pistol grip handle hitting the dash is caused by the distance the handle must travel to put the transmission in gear. The 70 b bodies had a unique shifter "box" that used longer "fingers" that effectively shortened the length of travel of the longer handle. i pulled some pics from Brewers website that illustrates the difference. So, unless you spring for (or already have) a "70" style shifter box, you will probably have issues with the shifter hitting, or coming very close to, the dash in R, 1st, 3rd. Not an expert, just my observations over the years, your (mileage, situation) may vary. jt

I have one in my 69 RR, and no issues. The shifter assembly was replaced sometime in it's life with a later bolt in type like you have. If I ever replace it, it will be with a 71-74 shorter pistol grip for non console B body applications (not the B/E body short one). Check Brewers website, it is still listed as available.
