Hi I have just joined b body forums. I am in the middle of restoring an 1970 Coronet 440 that will be upgraded from a 318 car to a 1968 Magnum 440 engine and I would like to clone it to either a RT or a SUPERBEE I would appreciate any info other forum members can give me

Do you have some pics of what you are starting with, generally you turn a 440 into a super bee or a 500 into an RT (the whole tail section difference). Either way a nice car..
I would find a big block k frame , they are plentiful, and depending on what you car has already that is usable, you need a big block radiator, tranny, maybe a nice posi rear end, either a power bulge or ram air hood, a rallye dash if you want to go that far with it, etc..

Show us some pics, lets talk budget and go from there...

Personally I would turn it into a pro touring car, they are worth more than clones (and some originals), the 440's are perfect candidates for the change, they drive better, etc...

Sell the 440, get a nice 340 or 360, build it fuel injected for around 425 hp, add some nice disk brakes, larger wheels with meaty tires, air conditioning, digital gauges, nice stereo, and a cool updated color...

Welcome aboard and thanks for joining the Forum Henry!
I own a 70 Superbee but I would say to clone it as a 70 Coronet R/T

Bas *** "Good looking" cars!

PS: while stationed at Dayton Ohio 1982 my neighbor had a Red 1970 Coronet R/T 440 six pack convertible pistol grip car!

I already have the ram air hood and the big block 26"rad that will have to be triple recored and if I want to save the expense of a rally dash I could make it an RT

Glad to see you here Henry! I have a 69 Coronet 440 that I am cloning to be the SuperBee I had in high school (a zillion years ago). Welcome and please send us the pics as you work thru that build. I have had numerous coaches from thr "professors" here at Mopar U. and thrilled to get em. They ALL have different experiences I have been able to use in my build and saved me many times from going down the wrong road. Pictures of your trophy please!

Welcome to the site! How about starting a build thread in http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/forumdisplay.php?41-Member-s-Projects-amp-Restorations ?

Why swap K frames when the car already has a V8 K frame in it? All it needs are the big block mount brackets for the BB to drop in.....

Welcome from Michigan. Let's see some pics. and yes do the resto mod vibe to it.

Easier than adding the plate and most of the time cheaper, I bought a complete with mounts skid plate -hp big block k frame for $90 last year, I just needed a set of motor mounts and had to spend $75, then the skid plates are not cheap either... Most of the time cheaper and easier to swap the entire thing, especially if you are redoing the front end and blasting and painting everything anyway...
