hi from australia

Welcome from Michigan, The great lake state, looking forward to see how that beauty comes along.
What are your plans for it?

Well i am planning a full resto with only a few changes like cinverting it to a manual and working the engine a little, i have the original broadcast sheet and also the full factory service manual and a complete parts listing and i am in need of many parts still and will need lots of info as i am new to this so im hoping everyone here can help

some people think mopars only come in three colors plumb crazy purple.hemi orange. and sassy grassy green. most aren't factory. it's nice to see a real one.

Welcome to group. I like the car, I have a 72 SSP.

Will you have to convert the car to a right hand drive? I was in Australia back in 1992 and was talking with some car guys and they informed me that any imported vehicle into to Australia had to be converted to right hand drive if the car remained in country for more than 6 months. What are the laws on this now? I remember driving a manual transmission car while in Sydney and Melbourne and was that hard shifting left handed let only making sure I stayed in the left lane. I kept wanting to drift back to the right lane.

Welcome Sassy. You've come to the right place here. I've bought a few hard to find parts from members here, and many more by doing web searches. Lots of great info to be found here, just look around. Take your time and enjoy the experience.

43tutor, We can keep the cars LHD as long as they are a certain age. We also have what they call "club registration" where we can get cheap reg and keep the car original, as long as we stay a member of a club that is affiliated with the scheme. There are a lot more rules and regs that apply depending on what road he goes down, but he won't have to change it if he doesn't want to. Cheers.

Hey Monroegtx - thanks for clearing up the LHD question. Glad to hear the car can remain "original".

After my post to the thread I got to thinking back to my trip to Melbourne and Sydney. Is the Thunderdome track still open outside Melbourne? Back in '92 I spent a week there doing some racing. What a great oval track and experience that was. Hopefully someday I will make it back to Melbourne and Sydney again.

Yeh we can drive a LHD as long it's more than 30 years old as far as I know, also thethunderdome is still there but not sure on if it's still used but there is a drag strip there that is used quite frequently

The drag strip at Calder is still there as is the race track. They stopped having Nascar there in 2001. I think they run drive experience days there as well as driver training events. With Ambrose racing Nascar in the States it might bring an interest back here to hopefully stage some more events.
