A friend" of mine had a set of 15X10 under his 69 GTX with 295s (I think) and he had done NO cutting on the car. Wish I knew what offset they were.

NICE! Ya, putting the widest tire the rear can accomodate is near the top of my list.

Though nothing more annoying than tire/body rub to dampen the ride...well dropping a valve after a good tune up sucks a fair bit more haha
 
Actually, back in the day, we used to use snow tires for burn-outs, they're a softer rubber compound and smoke up nice.
