Quick intro and hope to join in here more often in the future,
Well, been into old cars most of my life, my dad ran a bus company during my younger years, contracted to the USAF, he had many US friends back then and I used to get a ride out in a lot of cool cars with him. My half sister also married a GI so also on early trips over to the states visiting I'd get to see what to me in the day were really cool 'rocket ship' style cars. Guess those experiences got me hooked!. Fast forwarding many years and classic cars later I'm now awaiting the arrival of a 1962 Dodge Polara 500 convertible, it's got a late 60's 440, 4speed and 8 3/4 rear. It's a great story how I got it and from a truly top drawer guy who's been so good to us with this deal. I really can't wait for it and all being well it should be leaving the US in a few weeks and arriving here in Blighty sometime I guess in January. Even my wife Clare loves the American classics, she has dare I say a '64 Falcon conv and a '62 Tempest conv. we both enjoy the American car scene over here in UK and travel to the US as often as time and funds allow. Hope to join in some discussions in the future and pick up some knowledge from some of you 'gurus' on here.
All for now from soggy Suffolk on the east coast UK.. hey any others on here from UK?

Welcome Bumper, There's a few of us here !

I remember the long wait for the ship to come, once you get the details you can track it part of the way here :https://www.marinetraffic.com/ :hello2:

Welcome from Western PA. New here myself, but in just the few short weeks, there are a lot of great people in FBBO.

welcome to FBBO from NorCal way across the pond

Ello Gov! welcome to our little corner of the internet!

Pull up a chair and stay a while!

Welcome from Maine! Do post some pics when the polar a arrives.

Greetings from chilly Ohio. The 1962 Dodge Polaras were downsized from the previous year (1961) and some people didn't like them, but I thought they were the coolest car on the planet at the time. Here's one that was being offered for sale this past spring for a measly $6500 US. I was sorely tempted to snap it up.

Appreciate the welcome from all, really makes me feel at home here. no news on my '62 , still waiting on it getting prepared for shipping, then its got to be transported to the docks, loaded into container and onto vessel. Then the long wait to cross the pond, at least we live less than half hour from the docks so easy pickup..can't wait

And hello from soggy Berkshire! I'm trying to make a holiday in the US work for next year so I can go over with empty suitcases! Although I'm not sure a front bumper will fit :)

Nothing wrong with a Ford in the family, Bumper. My daily driver is a F*rd M*st*ng.....

Ducks and takes cover.....

Gerry :)
