I want to know if this carb is original or a re-pop and what the build date code means.

I found 4672 on Holley's website, says it is a 1971 outboard. It appears to be original, but they say it should have somewhere the number: 3512837

The first three digits are the day of the year, and the last digit is the year. The 6 could mean 76, 86, 96 etc. Unless it is a stamping error it is probably an over the counter carb.

According to the video i just saw, from holley, the part number would be stamped on the airhorn, right above the list number. Thats exactly where it is on my original a12 carbs. Looks like yours is a repop.

Thanks, I noticed that Holley's new carbs have 0 in front of the list number.
An error is doubtful... my bad luck. It certainly won't go with my '70 Superbee carbs. Don't need a spare, so I was going to sell it. I'm assuming a 1976 date would be a repop like 33 Imp said, though it is stamped on the air horn.
