Holley vs Edelbrock

IMO, A 650 Edelbrock Thunder series carb because it has the AVS adjustable secondary plate.

I may just clean up my Edelbrock and rebuild it for now. been running that cheap gas, that might be the problem.

that 10% ethanol junk, certainly has caused me problems. In my vintage vehicles, lawn mowers, generator....

I buy non-ethanol gas for all my carburetored engines.

When I had my 440 built up, I ended up going with an AFB. I've always liked Holly carbs, but to be 100% honest, their appeal to me has always been more that they look cooler and the Holly name has a lot of panache more so than actual performance increases. I've known lots of guys who swear by Hollies, and lots of guys who swear at their Hollies.

What made my mind up for me was I went and talked to a guy in our area who's been rebuilding carbs for the better part of 40 years, and he has AFBs on all of his vintage rides. I figure he would know better than anyone.
