My hood has had one of the hinge bolts broken off in the hood mounting bar. Someone made a little mess with a welder. So now I need to figure a fix. I notice there seems to be a bar strip of thick steel slid into the hood hollow. There is (1) phillips screw in between where the two bolt holes are. Am I to assume that the screw goes through the underhood skin and into the steel bar which has the two tapped holes for the hinge bolts to screw into and by pulling the bar and the hinge all together holds everything in place?? So if I can remove the phillips screw, will that steel bar just slide out of the hollow area for me to repair/replace, slide back in and re-install phillips screw to center locate the bar?? Is that what I am seeing there?? Thanks,,,,
