What is the correct way to install hood pins ? Front to back of hood or side to side ? I’ve seen them install both ways. Which is correct?which way should the hole in the pin point.

Since you have correct answers I’ll give you this one. I’m no expert, but putting them on one side could lead to problems, same with putting them on the back of the hood. It’s best to put them at the front:poke::lol:

12:05 AM and I already learned something today....... AND I will be installing a set in the next couple of days :luvplace:

Look at the underside of your hood.

There is already a properly sized hole stamped in the proper location.

Most cars also have a mounting hole for the pin stamped in the core support, or fender brace, whichever is appropriate, and corresponding with the stamped hole in the hood underside.

A few cars require a separate bracket for the pin, but still have the holes stamped in the hood bracing.

It amazes me how many people get this wrong.
Half the work is already done for you.

I guess my post applies only to cars that could have come with factory installed hood pins.

we were talking about which way the pin sits, what are you talking about the holes and location?

I wasn't real sure what was being asked.

If it is about which way the hole through the pin is oriented-

The factory pins on my 70 Bee were front to back.
