Hooking up electronic ignition on 69 rr need advice on voltage regulator

Going with the mp orange box to my 1969 rr motor im putting in is 1970 hp 44o that has electronic ignition what kind of voltage regulator should I get? thanks for your advice? CD :hello2:

I'm in the process of making this switch on my 67 Coronet. I bought this: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...ulator_1496007_3319&keyword=voltage+regulator . It's cheap, works, and semi close to oem looks. I painted mine black and found a company online that would restamp it. Here's a pic of mine.

I got the MP voltage regulator from Jegs. I originally tried a repro, date stamped one from YO, and didn't work, brand new and it was faulty. No issue with the Jegs MP regulator.

Here's the one I installed, I updated my 69's electrical system as you are doing. Also had to switch to the 2 field alternator.

If you have a dual field alt you need the regulator Rebel posted. On my '66 with a single field I run the Mopar Performance 3690732.

And with this regulator you can keep your single field alt. on. If not you will have to ground one field on the dual field alt. I am not sure which one though.

Thanks for this great information, but according to the diagram I have to use the 1970 or newer voltage regulator with the two posts and I bought the older 1969 upgraded style square (solid state electronic) as suggested by the guys above with just a field on one side and ground on the other, so what does the ground side go to and do I just run a ground wire from the extra field
connection at alternator? thanks so much to all who have helped out.

Believe this or not but I found this. Make sure no wires are hooked up to the dual field alt. Take your ohm tester and check from one field on the alt. to ground. One field will have continuity and the other one won't. The one that has cont. from the connector on the alt to ground on the alt. case is your ground hookup. I hope someone backs me up on this.

I run the CEI MP Chrome Box for the street with a MSD Blaster 2 coil & CEI Adj. vacuum adv. distributor{different springs for different advance rate & vac. adv. adjuster screw all the way in with a total of 35*-36* degrees BTDC} with a 73 & later style Chrysler 4 pin ballast & wiring thru a dual field 75 amp Powermaster Chrome alternator & Chrysler electronic regulator...

Great diagram Budnicks! Green wire connector at the alt. appears to be the ground.
