I don't like having any of my vehicles looking just like anyone else's, my 2014 5.7 Hemi Ram 1500 4x4 will be no exception. I picked up a pair of reproduction stainless steel 71 to 74 Charger machine gun exhaust tips,at Carlisle, for it. They are surely going to give my Ram a new look. I plan to get them installed on it this week.

This is the Ram with the stock tips.

My sister in law found a new purpose for the machine gun tips!

I like the idea. The retro look really is appealing to me on the new stuff.

I did a whole bunch of retro stuff to our 09 Challenger R/T classic too.

I got one side installed, and I am trying to decide how much of the tip I should have beyond the bumper. I like them like this as more of the tip can be seen. Is it too much?

IMO I would shorten by about 1 inch but it's your truck. Did you have to step down in exh diameter to attach? What is the diameter of the tip inlet? Welded or clamped? Got a pic of where they are attached? Are they supported? Thanks.

so it "really" stands out from the crowd :poke:

The pipes are 2 1/4 and the tips are 2 1/2 so I used a stainless steel adapter with clamps to put them on. There is a hanger on the pipe right before the tip. I will probably add a hanger on the tip as well.

That's the problem with them, they need to stick out to get the full affect of the look of them. I have them on my 65 and they hang out pretty far, maybe to far. I like them, well done!!

I know my truck is not a modern, but I did something similar....went with tips from a 1968-70 Charger on my 1968 Dodge A100. :D Full stainless from the headers back.

I love a nice pair of tips.

....another twist on my A100 was to french in a Dodge Charger fuel filler cap. I came up with this about 6 months before Chip Foose did the same thing on an episode of 'Overhauling' - there is no way that I copied this idea.

That is too cool!! Back in the day I had a friend who was responsible for the design of the rear tail wings on the 1959-60 Chevy. He was a young kid fresh out of school when he went to work for GM in their design department. It was a last second idea to meet a dead line. He also helped create the Bud Man for Anheuser-Busch in the late 60's. He helped me on my 1964 Ford Econoline van. That's before Chip Foose could spell car. Not everything was created by the great Chip Foose. Did you know that the 57 Chevy came out with fuel injection because GM over heard that Ford was coming out with it. They got it wrong, Ford came out with a Supercharger, but not for main stream use so GM pulled it in 58. Spies back in the day !!

I moved the tips back so 1 5/8 inches of the tips are showing past the rear bumper. They look great, but I forgot to take my cell phone out of my pocket and I broke the screen! Oh well! I love the A100!
