Has anyone installed the Hotchkis pivot shaft greasable pivot shaft polyurethane bushing kit?
Or does any one have any input on this? I have read a post a while back that states where people favor the stock rubber in lower control arms because the poly bushings have no means of positively retaining the control arm to the pivot shaft.!
In other words in my mind the only thing that prevents the control arm from sliding back is the torsion bar stopping it! Or am I thinking wrong? Would like to upgrade to poly bushings but is this pivot shaft upgrade a good idea or should I replace with stock rubber bushings?

The only problems I've read about them is operator error. Torqing them down to hard before it's set at ride height and popping or stripping the threads

Wow I would not have thought that the shaft kit is suppose to be a hardened shaft. Hard to believe that someone would over tighten the nut! Not quite what I was hoping to find out but thanks for the reply and your input.

I think what he meant was torquing the nut while the weight of the car isn’t on the suspension, when you do that then load the weight on it’ll tear and or bind the bushing.

You’ll get guys that swear by the rubber and poly, I like the poly bushings that’s what I have on mine.

Understand what you are saying, looking at the way the poly bushing will move freely in the shell to my way of thinking you should be able to install control arm at any position tighten the pivot shaft nut and then the arm will set to the height that the torsion bar has on the body VS rubber bonded bushings for sure those must be left loose until the ride hgt is achieved, having said all that you say that you have all poly bushings on your 67 coronet including the bottom control arm? Is it a Hotchkis bushing? Do you have the greasable shaft or just the bushings?
Thank You for your input not being stubborn just trying to find out all I can on these before I purchase.
