You know, I've never been to one, not even when it was still in Indy. What are the vendors prices like there in general? I've been to some shows where the prices are fair/good and I've been to others where everything seemed to be minted out of gold. Been a while since I've had a project and this one, if I keep it, is larger than my previous ones so I thought about going and taking a trailer.

What's the general take? There are always those "premium" guys but overall are the prices fair?

its just like every other kind of show.
the early birds/oldtimers will follow reg people in and buy their stuff as they setup for dirt cheap prices.
reg people being guys like you n me.

then, youll see those same parts for 7 times what they paid for it at their booth for the rest of the weekend.
on sunday, theyll relent a hair or two and sell the rest for only 5 times what they paid.

so,if you want something at a good price,be there early.
ps,always ask the reg vendors/Not the pros if they have anything else, sometimes theres diamonds in the trucks still they havent unpacked.

Ok. Thanks! Yeah I've noticed that at other shows. I've actually paid for vendor spaces before, just so I could get in while all the vendors were swapping at other shows.

I havn't been to Nats since maybe 2003 or 4? long way from Missouri to Columbus! I took my parts to SELL! period! I would mark my stuff down from what I KNEW the big boy vendors wanted, I sold half my parts Thur afternoon to who ever, vendors as I unpacked, sold out by early Sun AM. funny how I could walk around and see some of the parts I sold still sitting in the big boy spaces Sun not sold! ha
and every year I would see NEW amateur vendors with a load of just junk, thinking all mopar parts are gold or needed by someone! they just wanted to be part of the deal, and hoped to pay for part of their trip selling used alternators and such.
I have always found good deals there when I went, BUT they were from the little guy vendor like myself. but ya got to be early and LOOK! like most swaps!

one Sat morning I was walking thru the show field, there sat a 70 pistol grip shifter sitting besides a guys c ar. the owner was standing there. I asked price, dirt cheap, I asked how long that had been sitting there, he said hours!!!!!! ha ya never know!

I sell at the different Mopar swap meets and got to know the so called big boy venders and I price my stuff to them just like they would price there stuff to the small restorer like myself.

The small guy looking to buy parts for there cars always got good deals from me and I will continue to do this for them.

I go every year, for the most part most vendor pricing (on new stuff) is as it is elsewhere so you at least save on shipping. There are however deals to be had with some offering show specials (it's not unusual to get good deals on AMD panels or chrome bumpers).
The swap meet is a mix, some fair some ridiculously overpriced.

I love watching all the nice/over-priced stuff get dragged from show to show, and degrade in quality.
