How can I tell the difference?

I found a Rallye gage cluster on line for sale. There is a pic of it. How can I tell if it is for a 74? Thanks

Post a picture and let the Charger guys tell you

74 has pictures of what the knobs do- like a picture of the washer spraying the windshield, etc.

They do all interchange, though.

Nacho, you're up.....

Radio is uncut ++

Brown is intact +

Wiper knob is present ++

How much?

might want to get that floor shift column collar as well.

Oh, sorry, doesn't look like a 74.

...but how concerned are you?

...also might want the wiring harness if you don't already have a rallye cluster.

Yours can work, but there's splicing involved.

This (horrible pic) is a 74- see the "icons" next to the light knob and wiper knob?

Thanks YY1 for the pic. I see the difference. He wants $300.00 for the gage cluster and $200.00 for the harness. Have not seen the harness. My 74 has the sweep speedo. Is this a good deal?

I think you can do better.

If it was a clock cluster it'd be worth more (cause you can put a tach in).

Harnesses go for 100 to 200 but if you can splice wires you really don't need it.

I've seen decent non clock/tach clusters go for as little as 75-150, but you may have to be patient to find one that hasn't been cut for a "standard" radio.

Update- ebay has made it fairly difficult to find parts like that. Used to see several at any given time, but can't find any today amongst all the carpet covers and carbon fiber inserts.

Post a want ad in the WTB section here.

Here's a clock cluster without the bezel for $160 plus shipping-

I could be wrong but aren't the dash frames different between the standard dash and the rallye dash

Could possibly be but if they are I haven't noticed it, and nothing prevents swapping the clusters.

Did the swap last weekend. The dash is the same. Use a standard rally cluster, just made a hole for the tach and drill some holes for the instruments

WAAAAY too much $$$ IMHO. A USED harness for $200? I'd rather buy a new one for that much. Even if the harnesses are on back order(don't know) it would be worth the wait

Looks just like my 74, but I don't know if they came with the 150 MPH speedo that year. I think I've only seen 120s for that year.

What kind of stereo are you going to install? If you're going aftermarket, there's no sense paying a premium for an uncut cluster just so you can cut it up.

Another issue is with the speedo. There's about a 75% chance that speedo won't work if it's been sitting for God knows how long. Most likely the grease has dried up inside and the needle will be banging around like crazy.

I bought a cut 150 MPH speedo unit for $50, and I've seen ones with the clock selling for as low as $100, which is about what I would pay for this one as you're likely going to have to get the speedo fixed.

I just found a gage cluster (no bezel) he said came from a 74: 150 speedo, clock, wiper switch with knob and headlight switch for $130.00 shipped. Said he tested everything and it all worked. Think I'll get it. Will the heater A/C switch from my standard work on the Rallye? Thanks for all the imput.

I think so. Just be REAL careful when you remove that switch set. The grey plastic mount it uses gets really brittle and breaks very easily.

Yes, it does.
