How Tequila works

My only experience with Tequila leads me to believe it is only for emptying the contents of your stomach, burning the throat and vocal chords, inducing mind-numbing headaches, and temporarily disabling the walking & speech functions.
Oh, and makes for great conversation on the deck of the ski chalet the next morning....ask me how I know.

2 rules for Tequila-

1- if you start to feel tipsy, you should probably already have stopped drinking

2- do not drink sitting down, otherwise standing could be a bit of a shock

what kind of tequila do you drink, ? Was it tequila For shure? is a liquor to drink slowly not the whole bottle in 5 minutes bro , beside it drinks in caballitos (those small glasses) lime, salt, and patience, ahh you people from down under, anyway.

I used to like the good smooth stuff like Don Julio, but I've recently switched to Sombra Mezcal. I like the smokiness, it's like comparing Scotch to other whisky.

Cost me the next day on the piste....which sounds a lot like what I was on the night before.
The bus ride home to our chalet was terrifying....everything was moving at an abnormally fast rate.

You should thank with all your strength to God you are not blind man, tequila should be transparent or gold ... not green, I have a lot of respect for the tequila, you got the worst hangover from it.

It is a different liquor, made from another cactus, I prefer mezcal over tequila, smother and more tasteful, drink it with a piece of orange ( yes orange) like the lime on the tequila, delicious.

They're not made from cactus, they're both made from agave - part of the lily family. You could say that all tequila is mezcal, but not all mezcal is tequila, the same way you'd say all bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.

The major difference is in the Mexican government regulations regarding the two drinks. Mezcal can be made out of any of 30 different varieties of agave and anywhere in the country (but primarily in Oaxaca), while Tequila uses the heart of the Blue Weber Agave and can be made only in the state of Jalisco and some parts of Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas. The plant is steamed or baked above ground for Tequila but roasted in underground pits for mezcal, which accounts for the smoky flavour.

The government regulations also prohibit a distillery from making both products; either mezcal or tequila can be made (depending on the state) but not both types.

A much needed explanation on both liqueurs THANKS i use that word because many of the people around the USA doesn't know an agave plant, FYA tequila factories use only agave from jalisco although I know that the denomination of origin include all the states mention by you, the best mezcal for me is the sotol, you should visit the town of tequila and climb aboard the tequila Express train, been there done that, highly recommended
