I need to reposition my wipers as they're stuck in a kind of solute and won't budge. The car is a 69 Satellite, 2 door. Does the valance between the dash and the hood pop out somehow (the piece with the grill/vents)? If so, how? If not, how does one access the linkages for full servicing of that system?

Many thanks in advance!

No worries, it's all under the dash and pretty easy to access. The only thing not under the dash is the wiper motor, which is in the engine compartment (big black thing on the fire wall right behind the air cleaner).

Sounds like they're not going in the park position. That's in the motor, not the linkage.

That's good to know that they're accessible via under the dash. Sounds like the motor is the thing that gave up the ghost after 44 years.

I'd like to adjust the wiper position until I can get to replacing the motor. They won't budge and they're kinda blocking my view lol.

Yeah, they're pretty accessible, though maybe radio and AC might complicate things (I have neither). If you get your hand under there you might be able to work the linkage to park the wipers.

I had that problem in a Crown Victoria years ago, and I found the best short-term fix was to turn on the wipers, and when they get to their low point, turn the ignition off, then turn the wipers off before turning the ignition back on. I had to do this again everytime I used the wipers, but it kept them out of the way until I replaced the motor.
