How to assemble slider ashtray 68 coronet

Hi there.

I got different parts. Missing the small ball bearings.

Does it has to go like in photo 2 but then with the small balls in between?

Does the part in photo 3 has to come into the assembly?
If not, anyone which application?

What is the diameter of the ball bearings?

I see you got complete ashtray that will need the 4 ball bearings to be fully functional. i had a hard time to find then for mine.
two on each side rail. no idea of size.

@Gransedan I just pulled a crusty slider ash tray out of my ‘68 R/T dash. It’s missing the pad and the “tray” insert is rotted out but after lubricating it, it opens and closes nicely. It may be suitable for parts. I’m not really interested in disassembling it. If you’re interested send me a PM.
