How to re-install hood latch release for 1972 Satellite?

Don't know how the hood release rod hangs down on a 72 SSP. If it hangs straight down, I don't think I could reach it. Then there is the lower grille section and the front license plate and its bracket. If I route it between the lower grille and license plate, it seems it would rattle around. How exactly does it fit/hang? Thank you.

There is a bracket that mounts to the bumper that the latch rod goes though and holds it at more of an angle pointed towards the lower grill in the lower valance.

I'll try to get a picture for you tonight. I bought one off a member here.

OK, found the bracket in my box of leftover parts, did not realize the third hole was meant to hold the hood release rod in position, I thought the third hole was for a fastener, now it makes sense. Thank you for the tip, hood release is now installed where it should be.
