Hello All, need to get in between my rear glass gasket to address some rust. Trina has to be removed first. Never done this before. Never really removed stainless trim on a car this old before either. Don’t want to damage anything. Is the best way to start? From the bottom driver side?

Thanks all!

Go to harbour freight, and buy a set of those plastic trim removal tools. NEVER use anything metal around trim or glass. Carefully work along the bottom of the lower trim, first, to pop it up out of its fasteners. Then, work along the side trims. Finally, pop the top trim up out of its fasteners. All these fasteners are spring clip pieces that the trims pound down into. If you are addressing rust in this area, you may have to replace some of the clips as well. If the rear window has to come out, sacrifice the old rubber weatherstrip by cutting it, rather than taking a chance on breaking that hard-to-find rear glass. Trim clips and weatherstripping should be available from Joe Suchy, or Jim Kramer. Google them for more info.
