I know this has probably been ask a million times before buy I'm new to this forum stuff and new to the v8 world. I'm building my first v8 and its a 1967 plymouth satellite with a mini tub already done. It has been in my family for 30 years.. I'm 31 so it's almost as old as me lol.. I had 15x10 with 325/50/15 on it and they looked to small.. I wanna fit a 15x12 if possible. I have a 315/60/15 tire. I'm not sure how to measure for this stuff. I'm used to fwd.. I'm looking at a 15x12 with a 4 bs.. Does this mean I measure 4 in off the drum back to the frame? Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks again

Face of the drum were the rim mounts then back 4"s

Ok thanks bad mopar 67.. I seem guys fit the same set up on a 66 belvedere didn't know if the quarter panels were different or they measure the same as my satellite

the 315/60/15 tire is slightly(about 1/2 inch)thinner then your 325/50/15.but it is taller.two pulmb bobs taped to the inner fenders(inner and outter) will get you your spaceing.if the axle has not been shortened you dont have much space on the outter edge.to fit a 15/12 wheel you will need more than just 4 inch back space.if you tape a third plumb bob right over the outter edge of the drum(where the wheel mounts)you can figure out the largest wheel and tire combo that will fit.leave about a half inch of space to any metal from the outter plumb bob lines for tire flex.the space from the outer plumb to innermost plumb is max wheel width and the measure from innermost plumb to the middle one(at the drum)is a measure of back space.hope that helps and is somewhat understandable.

Thanks, Yeah that's a great help.. The axle has been shortened and the mini tub was done to the frame rail with the leaf spring located under the frame.. The inner lip has been removed also

In the event you didn't know what the numbers stand for, or, To add to the confusion:

Your tire measurement (325/50/15) is broke down like this:
325 = millimeters wide
50 = tire sidewall height is 50% of the width (in this case: .50 X 325 = 162.5 millimeters)
15 = wheel diameter (you already knew that)

Metric to Standard Result:
325/50/15 = 27.8x12.8/15
315/60/15 = 29.9x12.4/15

So, your 315 is 'approx' (some mfg's lie) 2 inches taller, and 1/2 inch narrower.

I'm guessing you are looking for something more like a Mickey Thompson 3757R - Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial Tires 28 x 13.50R15

Great site to convert metric tires into inch sizes:

Got the 12s to fit. Had to go with a 5in backspace but got a great deal on them. Thanks everyone for all your help. Can't wait to get it running in spring

Do you have any pics of how this looks with the wheels and tires on the car? I've got the same issue and looking for a wheel and tire size that will work.
