WTB I am in the beginning stage of looking for a 1968 Superbee to purchase.

I have looked at this one. It has 2 things I do not want. It is red and a 4 speed. Plus, it is at the high end of what I am willing to spend. It does look like a nice car though. Probably won't be around long. I did consider snapping it up, but I just started looking, so I am going to hang on a while and see what comes.

If you are good with green with an automatic, you are more likely to get a nice car on a budget. I got a really nice Hemi car this way. I paid top dollar on a red 440 four speed car to get that out of my system.

I am absolutely good with green and an automatic, and I am good with a hemi if it falls within my price range, but usually, a hemi car will cost more than I want to pay, so that is why I put it in my "don't want" list. If I want a 4 speed to drive, I have a 427 69 Corvette for that purpose. I am looking for the Bee with an automatic just in case I get to where I cannot push a clutch pedal. Sadly, I am getting up there (68) and I have to think about these things.

I’m 72, and drive with hand controls. I think you are being prudent. Parted with my last four speed four years ago.

I see a 68 on the forum FOR SALE - 1968 Superbee It looks like an awesome car, but I want the original hood on the car I buy, and this one is WAY outside what I want to spend. I also do not need a race engine. The stock 383 the car came with would be fine for me.

I am glad to know you are doing what you need to do to stay on the road 68BabyBlue! I really do appreciate all your responses to this thread. Thank you very much!!!

I have wondered about that too. I wonder what is "correct".
I looked through quite a few Chrysler 68 Super Bee literature with photos, ads and survivor cars and restored to original cars.

They all had only the DODGE letters on the grille. This makes sense, since they say they used the Coronet 440 striped of exterior trim to make the SB.

My guess is some of the SB owners liked the R/T’s blacked out grille with the R/T emblem look. I myself do to, and removed my 500’s center piece and placed the 500 emblem where the R/T emblem sits.

It must be my eyes. The driver's door and the area behind the bee stripe appear to be a different colour.

Funny you are right. I have a 67 R/T in the same color and the front fender has been repainted because of garage damage. In pictures it is pretty noticeable but in person you hardly can tell.
