So there was some discussion over the week wether my newly acquired Roadrunner was real or a clone. I'm a Mopar newbie so I had no idea but with a lot of help from members of this site I was pretty confident it was in fact real. Well I was finally able to get a former owner to locate a file of paperwork that went with the car. The car was acquired from an estate sale prior to me acquiring it so I had to go thru some channels to locate the paperwork. Besides a bunch of old receipts and old registration information there is the build sheet, the original sales receipt and a copy of the original title. The sales receipt shows the items that some members were questioning, especially the sill panels. Here's some pics:

flashback !! polk mtr co was a dealer that i took a parts inventory for in my first years in the parts business in 1970 !!!!

It appears that the origional owner paid cash at $3468.96.At the time he must have been wealthy.:happy3:

You did strike gold ! Great info to have and I agree your value just shot up
Well done.
Any tips on finding previous owners you could share ?

Sorry no tips, I was basically given all the info and all I had to do was follow through. Wish it was always that easy!

congrats! when i bought my 69 RR in 2005, it didn't have a fender tag, and i was starting to question myself if i really had a true RR. called the girl i bought it from and asked her if she had the tag somewhere. she said, "i'll have to look and see". 1 week later, tag arrived in the mail!

Well aren't you a lucky dog, good for you. Congratulations finding the paperwork and that beautiful Runner too.

That is an awesome ride. Nice find. Post some pictures of the car. It has some pretty neat options according to the build sheet.

D

Meep - sorry you went through all the consternation. But at the end of the day it was probably worth it now that you put the questions in your mind to rest - and on top of it have priceless documentation that most of us don't have.

Congratulations - was glad to be part of your search.

Great to have that stuff...

That's very cool. I was lucky enough to get the original, hand-written, bill of sale for my 1st WO car from the original dealer. They had files that were 80 years old. It definitely added to the values at selling time. It also had the build sheet. The original owner was a dick, and had stuff he wouldn't part with. [MSO, pics, film, etc.] I offered to copy and purchase, but he was TOO busy....once I wouldn't sell him the car.

I think you have a 1 of 1 car. Look on the bill of sale. It's a 1969 Plymouth RR "Tudor" HT !!!!
