"I Know Your Mad At United But"

IMO UA was within their rights & laws, moral or not...

Just bad PR for UN...
It really shouldn't be either...

I hope it gets thrown out of court, another frivolous lawsuit,
on the assumptions & logical standing, that it was easily avoidable,
only if he had complied with the officers requests..
He told them to paraphrase;
"he wouldn't get off, they'd have to drag him off"

He got exactly what he asked for IMO !!

The laws are laws & rules are rules, usually for good reasons,
he willingly/willfully broke both of them...

Always 2 sides to any story...

I don't know why UA apologized even...
They did what they are supposed to do,
he was noncompliant & belligerent !!
Even if it could have been handled better/differently,
they were within the laws & their rights to remove him...
He could have just walked off, got financially well compensated
$800-$1200 & got to go on another flight to boot...

He's a dumbass plain & simple, after he refused he'd have been
just another threat & disruption to the attendants & other passengers safety...

Two sides to the story. I fly pretty much, not fun. When Law Enforcement tells you to do something, ******* do it. Don't care if you are Vietnamese, a Doctor or whatever. Who cares. Do it, and do what is required LATER. That way, you don't lose teeth. Everybody is a victim. Bullshit. Like a traffic stop, cooperate and don't be stupid.

This whole thing grew to be bigger than it really should have been mostly from the videos everyone sees.
It was a mess getting this guy off the plane without question.

What would have made better sense? --He had to move and he said no. Should the response have been-- ok sorry for asking?

Who knows how this may be delt with from here forward?-- Maybe clearing the plane of all passengers if that one will not move is needed?

Attention---We are over booked and we fucked up by doing so. Our protocol is to gain another seat. The only way we can do this is clear the plane and let only the correct number on board like we should have done in the first place.
If any one of you that are really pissed about this please fight with security at the gate cause their is more room for that kind of resistance.

Getting sick of hearing the story and seeing the video. Enough.

Me too. There is plenty of very important and pressing news that needs 24/7 coverage and this one is in our faces??:realcrazy:

I've always remembered a simple rule....
"There is always two sides to a story and the truth lies somewhere in between"

He should have gotten off the plane no argument there. The letter written by some pilots wife is mostly B/S. She brings 9/11 into it, has nothing to do with 9/11. Four pilots stuck somewhere and need to get home is B/S also. How'd they get there in the first place? Its suspect of bad management. Everybody knows the airlines over book.

He screwed the pooch when he re entered federal security space and the aircraft after being escorted off and out. He's very lucky he didn't get his *** shot off.

Agreed. I fly United. A lot. They can be whores too. Like when they tell you there is a 20 minute delay - and the aircraft is still not even at your gate. You know it's bullshit. 20 minutes later, they announce another 20 minute delay. So instead of getting a $20 beer somewhere, you hang around the gate for nothing. If they could, they would charge for carpet wear for every footstep ypu take. That said, if a Police Officer tells you to get off, get off.
It very well could be bad management. Like a traffic stop that you think is not warranted. Cooperate anyway.

I agree and think -that- is chapter two of this story.
I see lawyers making much more over this than this guy will ever see.

The lawyers are the only ones who will see any benefit from this.

The four passengers were removed because 4 United employees need be at the flight destination to crew a flight the next day. They could have had Uber drive those employees to the city where they needed to be, a 4 hour drive.
I agree the guy probably should have gotten off but they let him board. They should have upped the amount of money.
It's cost stockholders of United stock $225 million so far. Very expensive.

One...the flight was not overbooked. They allowed ticketholders to board. They then decided to bump paying passengers to fly four employees to Louisville.
It is my understanding the bumping if overbooked is to be done before boarding.
The problem here is United allowed the passengers to board according to the law. They then refused to transport and violated the laws. United was wrong in more ways than one.
That doesnt mean the passengers can do what they want. Once a passenger becomes unruly they can be removed. But he became unruly when United tried removing him from the plane illegally.

Resistance is futile at airports these days for the good of all. **** can happen in a flash.
That is why all travelers need to chill and learn.

I was detained on my last flight because the hands up scan showed a "groin anomaly"
My next spot to stand was where several folks asked to feel for my "anomaly":)
I told them I had a hernia and that was what they felt.
To make this short--(It was long) -After several conversations about strip searching me in another room --the last guy came up close and in a quiet voice said that he thought I was OK and good to board the plane. ----But he added that he hoped that I ---would not let him down.--
I held my composure as best I could. I needed that flight and my humor--that came to mind would have been just wrong.

I so-- wanted to tell this guy that --that I would not bring this plane down with my exploding hernia--- because he was nice enough to let me through and it might not look good on his record as being --The one- that let me board the plane.

They the airline do not let pilots especially four of them get stranded that far away and then need them the next day to crew a flight. its called a "layover" or a "turnaround" Not four pilots get stuck somewhere and a light bulb goes off and United needs four pilots somewhere else.

There is no arguement about the United screw up. You still need to cooperate with Law Enforcement. Apples and oranges. Does not authorize you to be a victim, idiot, or minority gripe.

Again....he was escorted off. and past security without incident. THEN he went nuts and raced back into a FEDERALLY Secure area and onto an AIRPLANE. He GOT WHAT HE DESERVED at that point. Again, he's lucky they didn't shoot him. He's an idiot.

What makes you think they where going home. More likely, they where being deadheaded to pick up a flight to get a plane full of passengers to their destination. Happens all the time.
Home was the wrong word. Four pilots deadheaded at the same time? How did four pilots get to that airport and didnt do another flight on a layover? Remember were not talking one but four. Sounds like there is more to the story
