I took my Magnum to Moparty this year, and while there Mopar Keith of Noel Automotive in Iowa stopped by and made a nice short video of my car.
Someone whose dad owned it before saw the video and tracked me down this weekend. I bought the car from a collector in Ohio and knew he’d got it from someone in Michigan. It has a little red Penstar decal in the lower corner of the windshield a few people recognized as one used on executive lease cars.
I asked him if he knew the history of the car before his dad got it. He said his dad bought it from the original owner sometime in 2002 or 2003. It was in Buffalo NY. The car is unusually optioned as it’s got power leather seats yet no AC. The original owner said he didn’t order AC because in Buffalo it doesn’t get uncomfortably hot very often. And he stored the cars winters.
Nothing about him being a Chrysler exec. The guy who bought it in Michigan was a retired Chrysler guy, so maybe he had a little stash of those decals and he installed one since they’re sort of cool.
It’s cool finding your cars history!
