My big yellow Accel Super Coil is dead. I was planning to use it on my 540 Hemi build. I have a box of standard cylinder style coils. They all read good, and all are old, not going to put one of them on a new build. The only thing I wont buy is anything MSD. MSD anything dies in two years. The Super coil, big yellow or standard cylinder style, is there a difference? I have an older Mallory Promaster coil that reads good. The square box style. They still make those, $180. My old one can be the back up coil riding in the trunk.

So what is the best? Another Big Yellow Accell, Mallory Promaster, Pertronix, Davis Unified Ignition, Or something else?

You never said what type ignition system you are running - Ignition module

Ballast resistor or no ballast resistor

Pertronix,
Good quality. Used on several builds. Order proper OHMS for your ignition . Accel WAS good at one time. My last new Accel died in less than 1000 miles :BangHead:
