I'm Thinking Seriously About This Car

In preparation of seeing the car: Go to Reddit and Cars.com and read over the negative comments about the dealership owner and his staff.

Overall;
Car doesn't look bad, seems solid,
I've seen way worse for far more (I'm not a fan of red cars)
but I'm not up on the MW prices even for a clone/tribute car
with a real MW in it (IF it is a real one)
&
it's a used car, & a performance car, track car
& it will have some stuff that needs to be tended too

Good luck

All of the "shiny" trim pieces look either corroded and/or water spotted.

The pictures appear to have been run through a "filter". Finer details are lost and who really knows what the paint finish really looks like.

Get them to email you some high resolution pictures of the car before you go look at it in person.

FBBO members usually suggest using a magnet to check for the presence of bondo. Take a paint thickness gauge with you too. TAKE A BRIGHT FLASHLIGHT TOO.

Looks like red glyptal or "something" was applied to the under inside of the engine block. I don't have an opinion one way or the other about using red glyptal; although I am intrigued by red glyptal. Anyway, see what paperwork they have on the engine rebuild and find out if a well known and respected machinist did the work.

Oh yeah, take an objective third-party person with you...someone (a car person) to nit pick the car when you fall in love with it.

Good luck.

I followed this process in 2021, when I took my third party Ford friend to inspect my former Hemi car. Lucky the car was a good one. He fell in love with it before I did.

Beautiful car, but I'm going to nitpick.

Resale red red red, and even red gas tank straps.

Dash pad above cluster is cracked.
Floor mats don't match the carpet.
Brake pedal pad is used up.

Undercoat under car looks weird, maybe hiding something, or just was all original and no issues, then sprayed again and/or painted black.

No pics of hardboard ceiling, is it drooping or stained, or new?

Undercoat in trunk, on quarters, looks original.
Armrests look really good, the tend to crack and fall apart.

The oil pan and cut out k-frame, is that how original max wedge cars were done?
I put a bb in a 62 and got the pan that fits.

From the bottom, front roll pan looks wavy and/or flat red on the bottom.

Firewall looks flat red, and what's up with the 3 plastic plugs near the master cylinder?

Is suspension rebuilt or just painted?
Idler arm is hard to find new/nos.

And the gas tank looks like it's leaking.

I believe at least 2 of the plugs near the master cylinder are where the heater core nipples poked through - now heater delete apparently. Beware since you live in the North. Looks like a great car overall to me for the money. Yeah, it’s got a few pimples and it’s not an original Max Wedge but it’s priced accordingly. Cosmetics look really good to me even if the pictures are filtered. The vent window frames may have a little rash but most do. Paint and interior look really good and that is worth many thousands as is the motor. Wish I had some garage space.

The car looks like a decent driver MW, which you can tweak to your liking. These are not cheap, or easy to build, so price is OK, if you're not looking to do a restoration on it. Make sure you look up under the dash, at the inner cowls, and same out back in the trunk, at the dutchman panel. Moisture really got these, depending on history of car...

That is correct, same place on my 62 Dart that the heater core comes through.
I blame insufficient storage space in my brain.

Agreed, I imagine that engine cost big $.
