I'm unable use the Bold button?

Mine are greyed out too. Just click on it, it'll work. All else fails ctrl+b.

Try hovering your mouse pointer to the very top edge of the icons.....I found that out with the smiley emojis.

Apparently you just aren't bold enough... Mine are gray too, but work fine..

Nope, I can get the square around the buttons to darken but there's no result from pushing it. No changes. ctl +b doesn't work either...
