Dont like the stamped steel chromies, rather prefer the fabricated chrome covers.
That being said, they appear wider, and wondered if headers will be an issue?

What engine? What specific valve covers?

383.....fabricated aluminum covers APPEAR to be tad wider since they are of the "boxier" shape...just asking since getting ready to install headers....prob is not an issue

Nope...not an issue

If the engine is in the car, installing headers is a pain in the *** regardless of valve covers, etc.. Even high dollar/high quality headers are a pain.

Yea, not looking forward to it, especially without a lift in my garage.....research says, unless im a lottery winner, TTI are out, Flowtech are in.....
Im not a lottery winner.....

With taller valve covers You may run into distributor clearance issues.. I have a set of TTI headers 1 7/8 primaries They are not chrome but are ceramic coated. 400 bucks plus shipping.

There is a difference between chrome (which is usually used on steel) and the aluminum people use to fabricate valve covers out of. It can be polished to a mirror finish or color customized in any number of ways. Not being a fan of fabricated covers myself -- too many of my customers' choices have been returned over the years to the manufacturer because the welds were terrible -- you'll want to make sure whatever you choose not only fits with your header choice but are tall enough that you won't have rocker issues too. Check out my website if you need some ideas ............. custom valve covers are one of my specialties. :D

Hmmmmm.......and all this time im thinking the stamped steelies would have a more chance of leaking over the fabricated welded ones.....time to rethink i guess....
